Star's Dol: Costabild

I finally did it!!

I present to you a small comic based on my Star's Dol horse setting! A little out of context, but I wanted to make at least some excerpt from the whole story so much that I don't even care about potential spoilers if I want to make a full-fledged comic some day

Star's Dol is a fantasy story about magical horses. I like to split it into books, this comic is the end of the third chapter. This time period tells the story of two brothers - Willord and Jack Brown, who came from Costabild to help the army liberate their city from lizards called Effir'ians (from Effir'). Wild was seriously injured, but this did not stop him, and he went to save his friend Judy alone.

Guypril 'Wizard'

Guypril is the main character of my story "Star's Dol" He's a young stallion who loves to learn and wants to devote his entire life to studying magic. He has always been an outstanding individual among others due to his desire to learn about the world. However, he was doomed to be considered weak due to his poor health. He is kind, sympathetic quiet boy. He likes to share knowledge and teach others, but sometimes he can even be strict and critical. He often arranges debates with his acquaintances on various topics, does not like to lose or be wrong.

The boy lives with the Taggers, they became his foster family after some events when he was a kid. I won't tell the story here in the post, because I hope to make a comic about it in the future (or a separate post at least). The only thing I will say is that they all love him very much and consider him as one of them. He doesn’t know his real parents though.

Guypril has a secret that only his family knows - he is half pegasus. Pegasi are respectful creatures, all of them are the upper crust of society, but secretive and distant from ordinary horses. Their numbers are very small, as the pegasus blood is difficult to pass on and most are born as half-breeds like Guypril: they can only summon wings with magic, and are also weak by nature. Guypril hides his abilities to avoid unnecessary scandals and gossip, but his curiosity about his origins and the pegasi as a phenomenon inspires him.

Taggers family

Jeyra comes from a race of horses that live in a country called Troskos. He and his parents moved to Sand in search of work and to experience a more civilized life. However, it didn't work out very well - they didn't like anything about it. They stayed for one reason: Jeyra became a forester. His duties included not so much keeping the forests remain in peace, but maintaining friendly relations with the little kingdom Kel'pe. He coped with this better than previous foresters due to his strong connection with nature and… the fact that the queen was into him. He settled in Sand, married Vincenta, then Sarah was born, and eventually Guypril came under his wing. Jeyra's parents went back to Troskos, and he stayed here with his family.

Taggers are a very friendly family, open with each other. Jeyra is a gentle giant daddy, Vince is responsible one, she loves to share her knowledge about everyday life with Guypril, who absorbs any information like a sponge. Sarah is more brash and extroverted than her family, but generous and honest (sometimes even too much). Despite the fact that Guypril is not related to the Taggers by blood and even refuses to bear their last name, he answers to "son" and calls Sarah "sister". He is the center of the family, everyone's pride.

Troskos horses are different from ordinary ones: they are much closer to nature, their physical qualities are stronger than spiritual/magical ones. They all associate themselves with some more primitive animal, for example Jeyra with a tiger, Sarah with a doe, Jeyra's mother Illyvon was a panther, and his father Tsiriz was a lynx. They are also all noted for their colossal growth (the physiques vary though). They are a stoic kin, a bit wild and close-minded, but at the same time kind to the weak and very devoted to those they love.
